1. Make sure that we have 64-bit hardware
present: Sometimes 32-bit hardware used to install 64-bit OS and when we check
from uname –a it show as 64 bit.
So better way to recognize in CPU. Check
cpu info it will show its 64 bit or 32 bit.
2. Know the exact version of OS.
Uname will show only show OS name so
better to go with cat /etc/SuSE-release
Kernel Version of Suse linux : uname –r
